Czechia & Slovakia
Mar 6 – March 17, 2026
From Vienna to Slovakia to Prague and back, the trip became a blend of art, history, and friendship. It began quietly in Vienna with Klimt’s The Kiss, then in Bratislava, where friends filled the days with castle views, long walks, traditional food, and stories that brought the city to life.
In Banská Štiavnica, steep hills and old mining-town charm made everything feel suspended in time. Prague followed with its Gothic beauty and winding streets, along with a haunting pause at the Sedlec Ossuary. That night ended at a doom jazz show on the outskirts of the city, a strange but perfect contrast.
I closed the journey back in Slovakia, staying with a friend in Poprad, where homemade meals and the raw beauty of the High Tatras slowed everything down. On my last day in Bratislava, a lively football match made for a fitting final note.
On the ride back to my hotel one night, Hung Up by Madonna came on the Uber’s radio, its bright, pulsing beat while driving through the dark, medieval streets of Prague felt surreal.
